The moments following a battle between Free State and Cape Town should have been celebratory for South African soccer player Mohammed Anas.

Instead, he blew up his own spot—big time.

After scoring two goals in the match, Anas wanted to give some thanks to his loved ones. All of them.

“I appreciate my wife and my girlfriend,” Anas said, according to BBC reporter Gary Al-Smith, before trying to quickly take back his words. “Sorry to say, I’m so sorry, my wife! I love you so much. I love you so much from my heart.”

Anas likely was able to patch things up, but he may have had to sleep on the coach for a night or two.
