Garcia, who turned professional by winning the Masters Over-35 title at the 2014 IFBB North American Championships, becomes the first-ever Women’s Physique Division athlete signed to the Weider roster.
“Dany is a talented, dedicated, and hard-working athlete and I’m excited to welcome her to our team,” said AMI Enthusiast Group Chief Content Officer Shawn Perine. “Not only has she proved to be a passionate competitor who has risen to the top ranks of her sport, her extraordinary ability to balance being a professional competitor with the challenges of being a mother and successful businesswoman is truly inspiring.”
Garcia joins an extraordinary group of past and present Weider athletes including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno, Lee Haney, Phil Heath, Kai Greene, and Lenda Murray.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such an elite group of athletes who have had a powerful impact on a sport I love. In addition, I look forward to extending the reach and influence of the AMI Enthusiasts Brands through my own media connections and relationships. This is truly an exciting new partnership and I am grateful for the opportunity,” said Garcia.
In her role as a Weider athlete, Garcia will represent AMI’s Enthusiast Brands—Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, and FLEX—in the pages of the magazine, online, and at various events over the course of the year.
