He’s called Floyd “Money” Mayweather for a reason.

Official numbers have poured in from the fight of the century — Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. The fight drew in unprecedented numbers, grossing an estimated $600 million. As of the right now, the numbers read: $4.4 million from PPV (and counting), $73 million total gate, and $13 million in sponsorships. Each fighter and promotional companies will split up about $400 million, giving Mayweather 60 percent of it.

Don’t forget Mayweather’s bout with Marcos Maidana back in the fall of 2014 — earning $285 million over the past 12 months while in the ring. Leonard Ellerbe, head of Mayweather Promotions, says, “Floyd Mayweather just pulled off the biggest scored in the history of sports entertainment.” It’s his third time in four years, ranking as the highest paid athlete in the world — raking in $300 million this year.
