Read articleThe NBA Playoffs are just around the corner, and they’re shaping up to be one of the most exciting postseasons in years.
After three straight years of the Cavaliers and Warriors facing off, there are some very talented teams nipping at their heels—although it’s entirely possible we’ll get a fourth matchup, something that’s never happened in NBA history.
The Warriors are defending champions, but with star Stephen Curry dealing with an injury, it could open the door for a team like the Houston Rockets to make it to the finals. In the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors are the top seed, and they’ll be trying to finally get over the hump in the postseason, but they’ll have to go through the Cleveland Cavaliers to do it.
Over in the Western Conference, the Rockets, Warriors, and Portland Trail Blazers are already in the playoffs, but for the rest, it’s going to be a hell of a fight to the finish. There are six teams fighting for the last five playoff spots, and they’re all within two games of each other with just one more week to play. Whichever teams get in will have some major momentum and could be very difficult first-round opponents for the top teams.
The playoffs start up on Saturday, April 14, and the NBA is getting ready by giving fans a taste of what’s to come. The latest video in the “I’m Why” campaign will debut during the Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder matchup on ABC Saturday Primetime on April 7 at 8:30pm ET., but you can get a look at it now.
