In the film Bright, Smith stars as a cop in an urban fantasy setting where he must team up with an orc played by Joel Edgerton—yes, as in a Lord-of-the-Rings-type orc—to stop a mysterious weapon from getting in the wrong hands.
The stars aren’t the only big names, either—the film will be directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) and written by Max Landis (Chronicle).
During Sunday night’s Academy Awards, Netflix released a short teaser trailer for Bright, which showcases its unique mix of high fantasy and dark realism. Check it out below:

Bright will be available for streaming on Netflix worldwide in December 2017.
