The latest behind-the-scenes look at Mission: Impossible — Fallout shows exactly why Cruise needs that extra bit of protection: It’s because Cruise does many of his own death-defying stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
After climbing one of the biggest skyscrapers in the world in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and strapping himself to a plane in mid-takeoff in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Cruise ups the ante in Fallout. This time around, Cruise finds himself hanging off of flying helicopters, racing through the streets of Paris on a motorcycle, crashing cars at high speeds, and jumping from roof to roof during a chase scene (this stunt is the one where Cruise broke his ankle, forcing production to shut down until he was healed up.)
“Tom’s really Doubled down on the stunt aspect of risking his life—literally—for the movie, “ said Simon Pegg, who plays Benji in the film.
All those stunts are on top of the insane HALO (High Altitude Low Open) skydive jump Cruise revealed in the first featurette for the film. Here’s a look at the rest of the ridiculous stunts Cruise pulled off for Fallout:

Mission: Impossible – Fallout will be released on July 27.
