Despite the demanding schedule of being a TV star, Wiseley has long prioritized fitness and working out. He believes that staying fit is crucial not just for his roles on TV but for his overall well-being. “Long filming hours, as well as the mental and physical strain that go hand in hand with the complexity of reality shows, can be grueling on the body, so you really have to stay fit if you want to stay in the game,” shares Wiseley.
To keep fit and healthy, Wiseley follows a highly intensive training routine. His fitness schedule is not limited to conventional gym workouts. Instead, he works with multiple trainers in different disciplines to ensure a comprehensive workout regimen. His goal is to maintain physical fitness and excel in his athletic endeavors.
“When I sign up for a challenge, I approach it like a professional athlete. I train rigorously, with two to three sessions a day. I also regularly visit a sports physiotherapist for adjustments and targeted muscle work,” he explains.
The star displays a wide range of sporting interests that align with his approach to a diverse and balanced routine. He has incorporated a session of heavy Olympic lifting exercises once a week on top of practicing jiujitsu and boxing at least twice a week. While the routine is extremely demanding, it has helped Wiseley achieve success in all segments of life.
Interestingly, Wiseley’s commitment to fitness was not deterred by the COVID-19 pandemic. As uncertainty veiled the world, drawing it to a halt, millions struggled to retain some sense of normalcy. Wiseley did not let fear take control, and so while he had to press pause on his acting career, he continued to find release in sports.
He started to train for and participate in triathlons during this challenging period, demonstrating a unique dedication to staying active. “I hired a professional coach and pursued triathlons for about a year, contemplating a career as a pro triathlete. I even qualified for US Nationals,” he shares. “However, while it was a remarkable experience, my love for acting has always topped everything else. When things started to get normal again, I was excited to jump back into the entertainment industry.”
Speaking about the best methods of keeping fit, Wiseley primarily emphasizes the importance of balancing indulgence and discipline. “You need to allow yourself regular breaks from your regimen to achieve the best results. If you find the time to recharge, you will prevent burnouts, and you can maintain your everyday enthusiasm for fitness.”
For those who travel a lot for work or generally have busy professional schedules, Wiseley advises adapting and getting creative. He suggests bringing portable equipment, like straps or pull-up bars, and emphasizing workouts based on what is available to stay on track.
Wiseley also shares that another key part of his fitness approach is maintaining his heart rate. Despite the challenges posed by varying workout environments, he maintains that as long as he could achieve his desired heart rate and exercise for the required time, the specific workout itself was less important.
“Improvisation is great, as long as you are able to achieve even the smallest of goals. Among them, taking care of your heart rate as well as your breathing can have a large impact,” he adds.
Wiseley’s dedication to maintaining his physical fitness and overall well-being extends beyond the boundaries of his own success. He recognizes his influence as a public figure and uses his platform to inspire others to embrace an active lifestyle.
