He began cutting from 210 with a routine consisting of a 4:30 a.m. wake up, gym by 5 a.m., Stairmaster till 6 a.m. and managing a gym from the moment he stepped off the Stairmaster until about 2 p.m. and a lift at around 6 p.m., trying his hardest to keep a clean diet. He went to school for Bioscience and began reading up on training routines, diet plans , and the glycemic index. He took all of this knowledge into his first competition the INBF Long Island Experience.

From there, Acton placed second and continued onto work at SHREDDED sports using his image and knowledge to help build the company.
Acton received athletic, bodybuilding, and powerlifting achievements as well as being nationally published model.
