Iranian IFBB Professional League bodybuilder Baito Abbaspour has passed away from his long battle with vasculitis, a disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels. Abbaspour burst on the IFBB Pro League in 2012, placing 3rd at the Mr. Europe Grand Prix, and 4th at the FIBO Power Pro Germany and Nordic Pro, and 16th in his Mr. Olympia debut. Abbaspour won the 2013 Nordic Pro and earned a second trip to the Olympia, where he again placed 16th. Midway through the 2014 season, the 5’4” Abbaspour dropped down to the 212 division and amassed enough points to qualify for the Olympia 212 Showdown, where he placed 5th. But it was in the post-Olympia tour that Abbaspour was most impressive, placing 3rd at the Korea Pro, and 2nd at both the EVLS Prague Pro and San Marino Pro. Abbaspour wowed fans with his immense thickness, and what may have been two of the best quads and hams in the 212 division.
Abbaspour passed away at Atihe Hospital in Tehran, Iran. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife, daughter Hanane, and his family and friends. He will be missed.
