A new BBC documentary, Brought Up on Porn, which blames this increase squarely on Internet pornography, reports on the work of Angela Gregory, a psychosexual therapist at the Chandos Clinic at Nottingham University Hospital. While the erectile difficulties of Gregory’s older patients are mostly due to health issues, she concludes, her younger patients’ erection problems are caused by their pornography and masturbatory habits—which she says, are desensitizing young men to the point where “normal” sex with their partner leaves them unable to become stimulated. In adddition, Gregory found that porn watchers were left increasingly unsatisfied with the pornography they watched, which often led them to view increasingly more extreme and graphic types of porn.
The good news, Gregory reports, is that most patients can be cured of their erectile dysfunction in just a couple of months, without the use of drugs.
The bad news is, the porn’s really gotta go.
