Brie Larson is amazing—or maybe we should say she’s “marvelous.”
The Academy Award-winning actress (she won the Best Actress award for Room) is making the jump to the superhero genre as the star of the first female-led film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the perfectly named Captain Marvel.
Larson has been putting in some amazing acting work for a number of years—anyone who saw Short Term 12 in 2013 was not surprised one bit that she won an Oscar—and her performances in 21 Jump Street, Greenberg, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and the television series United States of Tara proved that big things would be on the way for the actress.
Along with Captain Marvel, Larson is starring in the big-budget action film Kong: Skull Island, joining forces with Tom Hiddleston and Samuel L. Jackson to battle the legendary giant gorilla.
